We are pleased to announce that Fritz Schweiger has been formally appointed as Chair of the Advisory Board (‘Board’) of McWiN Capital Partner’s Food Ecosystem Fund (the ‘Fund’).
The c. €250mn fund represents the flagship fund of McWiN Capital Partners founded by seasoned restaurant entrepreneurs Henry McGovern, founder of AmRest Holdings SE, and Steven K. Winegar, founder of Restauravia Grupo Empresarial. Together McGovern and Winegar have 60 years of industry experience, with a proven track record in scaling restaurant concepts across borders.
The Food Ecosystem Fund will leverage the deep operational and industry expertise of the McWiN general partners, investing into leading food services brands, such as Burger King, Vapiano and Gail’s Bakery, as well as innovative food tech companies including category leaders such as Upside Foods (who just received FDA clearance to sell their cultivated chicken in the USA), The Every Company and Footprint.
Fritz Schweiger and Head of Investments, Madeline Petrow, had the pleasure of attending McWiN’s inaugural annual event in Madrid this year where they had the opportunity to meet many of the founders represented in the Fund and connect with the other esteemed members of the Board.
Fritz looks forward to serving the Board to support the Fund’s growth and value creation across the portfolio companies, while also driving meaningful change in the food ecosystem as McWin leverages disruptive synergies between food service and food tech opportunities to improve sustainability and environmental performance across the industry.
